Parson Mortuary has been proud to serve the Muncie areas funeral needs since 1934. Through the years, our goal has been to provide a dignified service that has met the needs of the family that remains. We strive to treat each family which requests our services as if it were part of our own family. Our reputation has been built on providing a caring and nurturing environment where your questions, concerns, and fears about funeral services may be eased.
In 2019 we added our state of the art Cremation Center, featuring one of the most up to date crematories in East Central Indiana. Parson Mortuary Cremation Center offers a chapel for smaller services and a viewing window for those who chose to watch the start of the cremation process. The viewing window allows the family to view in comfort, seperate from the crematorty equipment.
Upon Ken Parson's passing in 2024, the mortuary was placed in the capable and caring hands of Jerry Shaner and Ashley Ferdin. Jerry and Ashley were handpicked by Ken to take over the business with the promise to carry on the tradition of helping families and caring for our community.
Our staff prides itself on being innovative and flexible so that we may help you to develop a service to memorialize your loved one. Pictures, crafts, and hobbies, are just a few ways that we remember. We encourage you to let us know how you remember the one that has gone on before. We at Parson Mortuary and Cremation Center know that our community is full of unsung heroes. We also know that they don't always get the recognition they deserve. In honor of these people, we are proud to announce our Heroes and Helpers Program.
If you are a Veteran, a First Responder (Police, Fire, EMS), a Corrections Officer, an Emergency Communications Dispatcher, a Teacher, a Nurse, a Clergy Person, or a Funeral Director, you will receive a discount. It is our way of saying Thank You for all that you do!
