Jeniece Bright

Jeniece Bright, 77, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on January 6, 2026, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

She was born on September 29, 1948, in Stern, Kentucky, to Crit and Bertha (Gibson) Cox.

Jeniece was known as an extremely hard worker; her family often said she simply loved to work. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with those she loved most. Above all, Jeniece cherished her family. Her daughter Dana fondly remembers visits to amusement parks with her mom, memories that will be treasured forever. Jeniece was a kind, loving woman whose presence brought comfort to those around her.

Jeniece is survived by her husband, John Bright; her son, Kody Bright; her daughter, Dana Buck (Johnny); siblings, Diane Hicks (Richard) and Jessie Cox (Connie); brother-in-law, Mike Kennett; grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Kyle, and Jonathan Gilmer; and five great-grandchildren, Mariah, Isaiah, Elijah, Kayden, and Bentley Gilmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Crit and Bertha Cox; and her siblings, Leroy Cox, Sue Kennett, Cletus Cox, and Rosetta Tinch.

Funeral services will be held at Parson Mortuary on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service.
