Alice June (Martz) Everist

Alice June Everist, 100, passed away at Lincolnshire Place in Muncie, Indiana, on January 8, 2026, surrounded by her family.  Alice was born on November 2, 1925, in Decatur, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Marie Martz.

Following high school, Alice went on to Ball State University and obtained her degree in nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she first practiced at Ball Hospital in Muncie in the maternity department.  She later practiced at the Children’s Clinic with Dr. Henderson.  She retired from there after over thirty years of service.

Alice enjoyed reading, playing cards, and spending weekends with her husband and children at their lake cottage at Lake Barbee, where she had several friends.  Family was a central part of her life, and she cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her three daughters, Cheryl Grim (Rod), Cathy Richman, and Susan Everist, grandchildren, Stacie (Rob), Eric (Jenny), Mike, and Amy (Michael).  In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Alysa, Madison, Garrett, Austin, Bekah, Luke, Allison, Lane, Andrew, and Louden, niece, Joann, and special friends, Harry and Jo Byers.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, John Everist, her parents, a son-in-law, Art, granddaughter Stephanie, and great-granddaughter Lauren.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Parson Mortuary in Muncie.  Friends may call on the family on the day of the service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.
